For the Students. For the Clubs. For the Future.
MARCH 3 – 5
Hey all! My name is Jeffrey, and I’m running for VP Internal of the MES to make the MES more transparent, equitable, and efficient. My philosophy is simple: listen first, consult stakeholders, then implement solutions efficiently and on time. I believe the best outcomes come from considering the perspectives of all students, including fellow students, committee members, club leaders, and other executives, and turning that feedback into actionable plans.
Students should never have to guess what the MES is doing.
Opportunities in the MES should be fair and accessible.
Clubs and teams should receive fast and effective support.
Students shouldn’t have to guess what the MES is doing, and decisions shouldn’t feel hidden. I’ll make our work visible, understandable, and accountable so that everyone knows how their feedback and involvement shapes real outcomes.
Clear updates on initiatives, timelines, and project progress. So you always know what’s happening and why.
Every process and decision will be recorded to preserve knowledge for future VPI holders and ensure no project falls through the cracks.
Every month, I’ll show how student feedback directly leads to concrete changes, so you can see the impact of your voice.
Transparency isn’t just about communication—it’s about building trust, showing accountability, and making MES work for everyone, efficiently and openly.
I will publish clear, digestible monthly reports of MES initiatives and timelines. This ensures engineering students can track progress efficiently without guessing, and know how projects and events are developing in real time.
All processes and decisions will be logged and preserved. For engineering students, this ensures consistency in lab bookings, event approvals, and project support, preventing repeated confusion or lost information between years.
Each month, I will summarize student feedback, show how it was acted upon, and outline next steps. Engineering students will see that their concerns directly shape decisions, from club support to project resources.
Opportunities in the MES should be fair and accessible. I’ll make our processes transparent, equitable, and actionable so that every student knows how to grow, contribute, and succeed.
All roles under my portfolio will have clear expectations and feedback, so students know how to contribute and grow.
Applicants will receive constructive feedback, not just rejection, so every student can learn and improve for next time.
Provide guides on how to get involved and anonymous surveys to gather community feedback with actionable follow-ups.
Equity is about creating systems where every student can know how to grow, contribute, and succeed in the MES community.
All roles under my portfolio will have clear expectations and structured feedback. This ensures that engineering students know exactly what is required, how to succeed in each role, and how to contribute effectively to the MES community.
Applicants will receive constructive, actionable feedback instead of just rejections. Students can learn from each experience and improve for future opportunities, fostering growth and confidence within our community.
Provide step-by-step guidance and clear documentation on how to get involved with the MES. This ensures all students, including new members and first-years, can easily find opportunities to contribute.
Introduce anonymous surveys to gather community feedback on initiatives and ideas, and provide follow-ups showing how student input leads to tangible actions. This strengthens trust and ensures student voices directly influence MES decisions.
Equity is about building systems where every student knows how to grow, contribute, and succeed in the MES, now and in the future.
Clubs and teams are the heart of our MES community. I’ll make support faster, simpler, and more effective so students can focus on creating, competing, and representing McMaster.
Questions and requests will be routed to the right positions immediately, reducing delays and ensuring timely solutions.
Set clear expectations for response times, room bookings, and administrative support so clubs know what to expect.
Streamline room booking and consolidate FAQs so clubs can focus on what matters most: creating, competing, and engaging students.
Efficient club and team support respects students’ time and energy, while ensuring clubs thrive.
Set up a system that routes questions and requests directly to the right positions. If a request is delivered incorrectly, I’ll work to ensure it’s redirected efficiently. Engineering students will no longer face unnecessary delays for approvals, room bookings, or project support.
Establish clear service standards for all club requests, including maximum wait times, event approvals, and room bookings. Clubs will know exactly what to expect, which ensures consistency and reliability across all support interactions.
Revamp room booking procedures to make them straightforward and accessible. Consolidate information and streamline approval steps, so clubs can spend more time on activities instead of administrative hurdles.
Collect frequently asked questions, guidelines, and resources into a central location. Clubs can reference this hub for answers quickly, reducing repeated inquiries and allowing them to focus on their core activities.
Club and team support should empower students to succeed without wasting time, helping the MES community thrive efficiently.
If you have questions, ideas, or feedback, I’d love to hear from you!
